ChatGPT: Is it a Threat to Humanity? — Elon Musk
ChatGPT is taking over the world. ChatGPT is the most talked about topic in Silicon Valley these months. ChatGPT users surpassed 100 million in January. AI technology is a hot investment. The world is shifting in the direction of an AI-powered world. The question is, will these reformations be a threat to humanity? Or will they surpass human capability and create an existential crisis for humanity? These are my thoughts.
ChatGPT is an OpenAI large-language generation model. Deep learning techniques are used to generate human-like responses for text-based prompts. It has been trained using a large corpus internet text to allow it to generate many outputs on many subjects. It can create emails, blogs, essays, program codes, etc. It does this in a remarkable way. It is different than google search in that you don’t need to click through links and videos to find information. Here’s what Sam Altman, the founder of OpenAI says about ChatGPT
“ChatGPT’s capabilities are limited but it is good enough to give the illusion of greatness.”
“A.I. Future is both terrifying and amazing. If it fails, ‘It’s lights out for everyone’
ChatGPT is pre-trained and is trained by humans. It has its weaknesses. It lies confidently, without excuses. Its discriminative responses to questions was also a hot topic.
This was the answer to these biased questions. Sam Altman acknowledged that there was an issue with the model they trained and stated that they are working on reducing bias. He stated that he was happy to address the issue.
ChatGPT is known for its biases and we are working to fix them.
The result of asking for a similar context was
They clearly removed biased content. It is obvious that this is possible because the filter was trained by humans. This can also be used to filter out biases. However, anyone can bias an AI model. This is a serious problem. It all depends on the person creating the AI model. The main problem with AI models is their inability to think outside of the box. AI can learn from past experiences and pre-fed data, but it cannot be creative.
ChatGPT’s advancement has caused a lot of people to be concerned about losing their jobs and being replaced by these advanced tools. Their concern seems to be somewhat true, in my opinion. According to the World Economic Forum AI is expected to replace 85 million jobs by 2025. This isn’t a major issue, I believe. According to the World Economic Forum, AI will create 97 million jobs by 2025. A lot of jobs that were once performed by humans are now automated during the industrial revolution. It also created many opportunities that require less human effort. The same goes for AI.
The good news is that the job market is changing towards new opportunities. Those who continue to learn and improve their skills will be able to survive. Although AI may lead to the loss of many jobs, AI can help you surpass this by continually updating your skills in line with market trends.
ChatGPT can be used by teachers, programmers, and other professionals to improve their productivity and skills, rather than to downgrade them. ChatGPT helped my friend with limited programming skills create amazing chatbots and web applications. This shows that anyone can excel by using AI tools.
ChatGPT and any other AI model has been developed to aid human beings. It has flaws, however. It will be difficult to overcome these vulnerabilities in the future. It is important to stay informed about current trends and learn the skills that are required to mitigate any potential risks. A solid knowledge of current trends and the necessary skills can help one be more employable and prepare them for unexpected challenges.
